During week 5, we began by sketching our creative ideas and experimenting with paper clay that I prepared in my studio. Each artist had the freedom to bring their vision to life, and most chose to sculpt. I took the pieces back to my studio to dry, but despite a full week of waiting, they still weren't ready! This unexpected delay taught us a valuable lesson in flexibility. Through this experience, we learned that art doesn’t always go as planned, but adapting is part of the creative journey.
For our final class (week 6), we pivoted and worked with air-drying colored clay, allowing the artists to once again create freely. As a parting gift, I sent each artist home with laminated samples of their experiments and one of my handmade bookmarks.
It was an absolute pleasure to connect with such talented artists, and I’m deeply grateful for their participation and enthusiasm every day.
