Billow Collection

The Billow Collection is a series of four 36x36” mixed media fiber art pieces encapsulated in resin. The materials are all upcycled including the paint which came from my 1026 Jay Street Mural. The repurposed fibers include upcycled thread and my artist made paper.

The Jay Street mural was created in honor of the vision and mission of the nonprofits of Innovation Alley; Digi-Bridge, She Built This City, and Rebuilding Together CLT. I felt so inspired by the vision and followthrough of these nonprofits, I didn't feel ready to stop creating after the mural was complete-- so I decided to create 4 "mini-murals," which I call the Billow Collection. A billow is defined as a large undulating mass of something, typically clouds. As clouds rise, so does my hope and well wishes for the beautiful vision of Innovation Alley. May your collective vision come to fruition as you work toward empowering often underserved, and invisible community members.

Note: The resin used in these pieces is Art Resin, specifically created for fine art.
