CALLING ALL CLT/MECK SOPHOMORE, JUNIOR & SENIOR GIRLS!
Learn about tools and techniques in construction from powerful women. Gain hands-on experience with tools, learn valuable skills, and explore the world of construction and public art.
All applicants from the Grier Heights community will be granted admission. Applicants from other Charlotte area neighborhoods will be invited to join the program based on their application submission.
ALL people MUST fill out an application to attend.

To change the way leadership looks, you must take matters into your own hands and push to be seen. In 1968, Shirley Chisholm became the first Black woman elected to Congress. Then she made history again when she became the first woman and African American to seek the nomination for president of the United States in 1972.

What will come of this project?
The workshops will culminate in a Traveling Exhibition of Chairs, along with related programming and panel discussions. Additionally, the initiative will establish connections between the women participants and employer partners in the skilled trades.
